it was 7am on a saturday morning
and one of the lenses in my sunnies was broke
so the cold, harsh sunlight was boring
directly into my throbbing brain
finally the bus came and i stumbled on board
i could feel the smell radiating from me like a disease
and as the old lady scurried away
i caught the headline on the paper she left behind
it said "BAR-ROOM BRAWL, TWO LEFT DEAD"
i looked again at the blood on my clothes

now the real problem here was the bloodied knife in my pocket
i wanted to get rid of it straight away
but it had my fingerprints all over it
now i knew the knife wasn't mine
but i couldn't remember where it'd come from
i flashed back to the night before..

i only had two drinks, i swear that's all that i had

but when those guys started throwing tables and chairs and things
i think something must have hit me in the head
i can't remember but

so it's been a week now and the news is still flashing reports
giving my description, saying "WANTED IN CONNECTION
WITH THE DISAPPEARANCE OF AN ELDERLY LADY"
